Rosmah wants apology from ‘pink diamond’ accusers – not to her but “to the people”

Datin Seri Rosmah Mansor declined any hypothetical apologies over claims she bought a US$27 million (RM110 million) pink diamond. Instead, the wife of former prime minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak said her accusers owed one to the people of Malaysia.

Deputy Finance Minister Datuk Amiruddin Hamzah told the Dewan Rakyat on Monday that the diamond was not purchased in Malaysia despite being brought into the country. He also added that the purchase was not linked to Rosmah.

Earlier this morning, at the Kuala Lumpur Court complex, Rosmah was hit with a new bribery charge. When approached for comment, she told the media that former PM Najib’s rivals had used allegations of the ‘pink diamond’ to try to vote him out of office.

“They wanted to use it for the election but unfortunately there will be people who believe slander”.

“But praise God the truth has come out,” Rosmah told the media.

She also said, “If people come to apologise to me, I will forgive them. But what is more important is to apologise to the people”.

Adding that she was only a victim and target for those trying to get to her husband, Rosmah nevertheless promised continued support and loyalty to former PM Najib.

“So any situation he endures, I am also forced to go through it being his wife, so I will remain patient for the prosperity of the rakyat, the country”

“I will remain patient and face all challenges that God throws my way,” she said. /TISG
