Hong Kong – Cantopop superstar Sammi Cheng held the third show of her FollowMi Sammi Cheng World Tour – Hong Kong 2019 on July 14 (Sunday). Andy Hui, her husband, who was tied up in a scandal a few months back, showed up to support his wife however received some negative reactions from fans.
On July 12 (Friday), Sammi Cheng kicked off the first of 13 performances at the Hong Kong Coliseum and received much support from close friends from the entertainment industry such as Cherie Chung, Michelle Reis, and Gigi Leung.
Her husband, Hui, was also present and he instantly received boos from the audience.
It would seem that not everyone had forgiven the incident on April 2019 when Hui was spotted canoodling with TVB actress Jacqueline Wong at the back of a taxi.
Meanwhile, the Cantopop queen had already publicly forgiven Hui and even mentioned her situation a couple of times during her first show.
“Growing to this stage, we experience and encounter much,” said Cheng on entertainment site Jayne Stars. We also “gain insights and come to terms with ourselves,” she said.
During the concert, Cheng also shared her surprise that her recent songs have become even bigger hits than her old ones.
“Maybe because it touched everyone, as each of us has our own experiences, hurt and tears,” said the singer who obtained inspiration for her new song This is How We Grow Up from the scandal experience.
“But it’s okay,” she added. “Because we all grew up like this.” Cheng burst into tears as she said the last line and proceeded to sing the song.

A few days later, Cheng posted a couple of backstage photos on her Instagram, which was captioned “Doing my best at the third concert.”
Hui could be seen at the background of one photo and fans were divided on their reactions toward the picture and his appearances at the concerts.
Some hinted that although he is trying to stay in the public eye by being present at the concerts, they would not forgive him for cheating on Cheng, reported The Star.
Other fans chose to extend their forgiveness because Cheng had already done so.
Meanwhile, some suspected that Cheng’s photo that included Hui was her attempt at gaining back her fans’ approval of him slowly.
“If something hurts you badly in your relationship, yet after the pain, your love could grow into one of the (strongest) in the world,” said Cheng as she offered nuggets of wisdom to the audience.
