Westlife appeals to Malaysian fans to search for missing ‘vulnerable’ schoolgirl

WESTLIFE has joined the appeal to extend the search for missing Irish girl Nora Quoirin, asking Malaysian fans to come forward with any information that could help find the schoolgirl.

The band is in Malaysia on a tour and speaking during a show at the Melawati Stadium in Shah Alam group member Nicky Byrne said, “We call on all the people in this country to offer their assistance in providing the latest information on Nora’s disappearance.

“We are sure her family is now hoping for Nora to return to their arms safely. [We are sure Nora’s] family is very grateful for your help. Thank you Malaysia.”

The 15-year-old disappeared from a jungle resort on Sunday. Westlife is in Malaysia to play two dates of a concert tour.

The band tweeted a poster describing Nora, writing: “Please repost and RT across all your social media and help find Nora.

“We are in KL and doing a concert tonight & it’s very upsetting to hear this news.”

Yesterday the Malaysian police says Nora could have been abducted after finding unidentified fingerprints on a window in the living room of the family’s cottage, reports The Sun UK.

Her parents have said from the beginning that they believe she was abducted.

A forensics team is examining the prints, and police said today they believe Nora could only have left the property through that window.

News reports say the family believes the girl was taken from her room, as the window was ajar when she disappeared on Sunday. The window can only be opened from inside.

Nora Anne has learning difficulties and had checked into the property with her parents and two younger siblings early on Saturday.

But the following morning she was not found in her room which she shared with her siblings.

Police used a helicopter today (Wednesday 7) and sniffer dogs to expand their search for the schoolgirl.

A statement released by the family on Tuesday said: “Nora’s family believe she has been abducted.

“She looks younger, she is not capable of taking care of herself and she won’t understand what is going on. She never goes anywhere by herself,” said the statement.

“We have no reason to believe she wandered off and is lost”
