Miley Cyrus and Liam Hemsworth to meet in court for the first time since breakup

Former lovers Miley Cyrus and Liam Hemsworth may have to face off in court for the first time since their split.

Radar Online obtained California court records show that the former couple could be meeting face to face at a status conference at the Stanley Mosk courthouse in the new year.

A proof of service must be filed by Hemsworth’s attorney before the January 21 hearing in order to avoid coming to court according to the documents.

There is also the option for Hemsworth to dismiss the case before that date.

An insider revealed that if Cyrus and Hemsworth fail to file all the necessary paperwork, this would be the first time the two will come face-to-face since they announced their separation back in August.

Another insider shared that Cyrus has accepted that this is over and has now agreed to move forward with the divorce process. The insider added that it would be interesting.

Hemsworth, 29 and Cyrus, 27 have agreed to a truce after a months-long feud.

The insider revealed that the two have both calmed down and Liam just wants to close this chapter and move on.

On August 21, Hemsworth officially filed for divorce days after they announced their split and after the Slide Away singer was spotted kissing The Hills star Kaitlynn Carter.

After a whirlwind romance, Cyrus ended her fling with Carter, 31 and moved on with Cody Simpson.

As for Hemsworth he only started dating again after awhile and is casually dating Australian actress Maddison Brown. Hemsworth and Brown were linked last month after they were spotted holding hands in New York City.

Hemsworth and Miley met on the set of The Last Song in 2009 and they fell in love.

The couple got engaged on June 2012 but they broke up after that in the following summer.
