Lana Nodin prefers life in US compared to Malaysia

Malaysia ― Last week, after returning to the United States, Malaysian actress Lana Nodin has been actively sharing her daily activities with her Malaysian fans on her personal Instagram page.

The 41-year-old’s most recent post was a clip showing her family on a retail therapy session at the Tampa Premium Outlets in Florida. According to the actress, the visitors at the shopping centre are given the freedom of whether they want to wear a face mask or not.

She wrote, “The (Malay) people say, ‘Hujan emas di negeri orang, hujan batu di negeri sendiri (Despite how bad it is, your own country is better and the best as compared to other countries)’.”

“But I’m very sorry for this quote that all of you gave me. For now, I’ll choose the ‘hujan emas’, because I haven’t been able to go out and do some shopping for a long time. No discrimination and freedom of choice is important!” the “Rahimah Tanpa Rahim” actress further added in her post.

As reported by Hype.my, the posting made by Lana (full name Mazlina Hasan Nodin) also prompted local netizens to leave their comments. In this case, the comments section was flooded with plenty of Malaysian social media users expressing their concerns as well as dissatisfaction. Among the comments include:

• “Thank you Lana for informing everyone on the situation happening there. While here in Malaysia, everything is closed down. I’m saddened seeing people fighting here and there.”
• “Here (in Malaysia), all the kids can’t go out. I feel bad for them because they’ve been confined in the house for so long.”
• “I don’t understand. Almost everything here in Malaysia is banned, even when you want to buy some stuffs. I really cannot fathom the situation. Everything is prohibited, but the number of cases these days remains the same.”
• “Looks fun! Whereas for here, I’m not sure when we all can be free like before.”
