Malaysia ― On Sept 22, Malaysian actor Nazrief Nazri took to his Instagram to repost an IG Story by his wife, entrepreneur Aziatul Aqma Hamdan. The father shared that the couple’s two-month-old son Noah had contracted Covid-19.
His wife said that Noah had to undergo a routine polymerase chain reaction (PCR) test as he was scheduled to undergo circumcision that day, only to end up testing positive for Covid-19.
“Noah didn’t have any major symptoms, just a little phlegm,” Aziatul wrote in her IG story.
Speaking to the Malaysian news portal mStar, Nazrief explained more about his son’s condition. The father-of-one said that he was taken aback when he found out that Noah had tested positive.
“We’ve never brought Noah out at all, only around our neighbourhood, and my wife and I have followed all the standard operating procedures (SOP),” Nazrief said. Other than us, Noah did not have any close contact with anyone except the hospital staff who handled him during the check-up,” he went on to share.
The actor also confirmed that both he and his wife are fully vaccinated and had tested negative for the virus. The family of three will be quarantined at home till Sept 30. Currently, Noah’s condition is stable, and he is recovering well, reported Today Online.
“I’m not trying to point fingers, but our baby didn’t meet anyone else, it’s odd because we only went to the hospital,” Nazrief went on to say.
Nazrief also advised all parents to handle their own kids when they bring them for check-ups in the future.
“It’s best to not let other people or nurses hold your child. If you’re weighing your child, it’s better if you hold them yourself ‘cos we can’t tell whether the person who’s holding your child has had contact with other people prior to meeting you,” he said.
Nazrief is a Malaysian actor who is best known for playing the part of Adam in the TV series Demi Cinta Ain. He has also appeared in projects such as Oh My English and Nasi Minyak Kuah Cinta. /TISG
