Singapore — Billionaire Bill Gates might very well be the first to be investigated under FICA – the unvaxxed in Singapore are vexed with Bill Gates’s comment that the unvaxxed should be “lashed” when asked about it at the Bloomberg forum held last week. Some Singaporeans, who submitted a police report over the remark, have organised an online petition.
The ‘Concerned Citizen’ also organized an online event last Friday evening (Nov 19) entitled “Dear Singapore Police, please investigate Bill Gates for potential FICA.”
Calvin Cheng applauds Austria for fining those who refuse COVID jabs S$5500, says SG ‘too timid with unvaccinated seniors’
Singapore — Netizens were not too happy at former Nominated Member of Parliament Calvin Cheng, who praised Austria for announcing that those who refuse to receive vaccine jabs to protect them from Covid-19 would face fines as high as S$5,500.
Mr Cheng, who has been a vocal proponent for the vaccines on social media, commented on the Facebook page of The Straits Times on Monday night (Nov 22), which linked an article to the news from Austria.

Singapore — As the country exits the stabilisation phase and into “living with Covid-19,” Health Minister Ong Ye Kung took to a hawker centre to commemorate the first day that groups of up to five individuals are allowed to dine in at selected venues.
“Today marks the first day that groups of five can dine in at selected hawker centres and coffee shops with Vaccination-Differentiated Safe Management Measures (VDS) checks,” said Mr Ong in a Facebook post on Tuesday (Nov 23).
Scammers duped teen to pay S$350,000 before demanding ransom from his parents
Singapore — An 18-year-old became the target of a China Officials impersonation scam and was duped into transferring more than S$350,000 to the scammers. His parents were then told that their son was kidnapped.
The Singapore Police Force (SPF) said in a statement on Monday (Nov 22) that the scammers impersonated police officers from China and made an unsolicited call to the teen about a month ago.
Israel starts vaccinating young children as COVID-19 cases rise, but some SG parents seem unsure about the jab for their kids
Singapore — Some parents commenting on an article about Covid vaccines being administered to five- to-11-year-olds in Israel expressed uncertainty or even outright refusal for their own children getting the jabs.
A Reuters report published in The Straits Times said that Israel had begun its rollout of Pfizer-BioNTech Covid-19 shots to children on Nov 22 (Monday), in the hopes of outpacing a recent uptick in Covid cases.
