Lee Wei Ling reveals emails indicating possible family feud

In an ongoing spat with the editors of Straits Times over their refusal to publish her commentary unedited, Dr Lee Wei Ling has released an email correspondence with SPH. In that email, she has accused Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong of “abusing his power”, and she also used words such as a “dishonourable son”.
Dr Lee is the second child of the first Prime Minister of Singapore, Mr Lee Kuan Yew. She said in her Facebook that her brother Lee Hsien Loong and she were at odds about hagiography. Her brother is the eldest son of Mr Lee Kuan Yew.
Dr alleged that ‘no one in SPH dares to stand up to the powers that be to say, “you cannot abuse your power.”, and so she will do so.
“HL has no qualms (about) abusing his power to have a commemoration just one year after LKY died,” Dr Lee wrote.
“Let’s be real, last year’s event was so vivid, no one will forget it in one year,” she added and warned that “if the power that be wants to establish a dynasty, LKY’s daughter will not allow LKY’s name to be sullied by a dishonorable son.”
