WP MP Pritam Singh offers NEA officers respite in town council office

Workers’ Party MP and Chairman of Aljunied-Hougang Town Council, Pritam Singh, has expressed in his Facebook that municipal workers regardless of if they work for the opposition held town council or the Government, deserves everyone’s understanding, cooperation and support.

Mr Singh said that he met some friendly officers from the National Environment Agency (NEA) on their vector control and rodent inspection rounds and told them that they are always welcome to take a short break in the Town Council office should they feel unwell or need a drink.

He also spoke about a town council conservancy worker, Rashid, whose mother recently passed away. He said that some of his residents enquired why the worker was missing from work for a few days, and when they found out about his loss, they offered the worker assistance.

The town council Chairman said that he will be looking into implementing an ‘open-door’ policy for municipal workers at all of AHTC’s branch offices.
