The Straits Times (ST) yesterday (12 Oct) carried an interview with Senior Minister of State (SMOS) Josephine Teo where she said that you do not need much space to have sex. She was responding to complaints that Parenthood Priority Scheme (PPS) flats do not get allocated fast enough for couples to have babies.

The SMOS took to her Facebook several hours later to say that the newspaper might not have captured everything she said in the way she intended.

Several commentators expressed surprise at Ms Teo’s comments and some asked how she was made a Minister (https://theindependent.sg.sg/how-did-jo-teo-become-a-minister-netizens-wonder).

Meanwhile, IKEA (a multinational group of companies that designs and sells ready-to-assemble furniture, appliances and home accessories) seemed to take a dig at the Minister’s latest comments about sex.

In posting a GIF of furiously shaking furniture, the furniture company said: “We are all for making better use of small spaces.”
