Ruling Malaysian coalition has unfair advantage in upcoming polls

In this democratic era, most elections for political power in the governmental positions i country’s citizens.s done through the process of voting, but in Malaysia there are doubts on this process.

If one compares the current situation to the olden days when governments were ruled by non-elected reps, that would be seen as unfair by many, as this could result in an abuse of power.

In Malaysia, the ruling party which is the Barisan Nasional has – according to critics – hijacked the SPR or the election commission.

He went on saying that, many Malaysians might still not be aware that the biggest reason for the defeat of Pakatan Rakyat coalition during the last election was due to gerrymandering.

If SPR and the relevant institutional bodies had ensured that the value of each vote for every Malaysian is equal and evenly distributed throughout the country then the opposition coalition would have won federal governance upon winning the majority votes, said Rafizi.

That means that if SPR even cared for the people, they would have made sure all the votes would have been used fairly.

Furthermore, many people in the opposition party, Pakatan Harapan are working endlessly everyday in order to provide justice towards Malaysians who were wrongly denied their rights to vote in the past.

It is now heard that the SPR – in a new ploy to deny the people their rights to vote – had also been rejecting applications of some Malaysians without even providing a cause, which is unfair towards the people.

To stop this from happening again is to make sure the voting process is stricter than it is currently, for example, follow the voting process in Singapore.

Here in Malaysia, voting is done anonymously and that can be duplicated many times causing a party to win more if the lights go out again at night.

If the voting cards have proper identification of each voters voting who they want, would that make an easier investigation to see which are the real votes and which are the fake votes?

On the other hand, would it fall on the NGOs here to lobby this idea to the Supreme Court in London for a fair election process?
