Last night, Malaysia saw a new page in its history with the police raiding the former prime minister Najib Razak’s properties.
No arrests have been made following the dramatic simultaneous searches of five locations linked to Najib.
However, Najib’s lawyer Harpal Singh Grewal said the search could be linked to money laundering.
While no documents were seized at Najib’s bungalow, police said documents were seized at a different location.
Police have seized handbags and gifts at the residence at Jalan Langgak Duta, Kuala Lumpur.
Documents believed to be linked to an ongoing probe were seized at the apartment at Pavilion Residences in Kuala Lumpur, said The Star.

Reports said the family was cooperative.
“No documents were taken, nothing of note, only personal possessions including bags.”
“We believe that the police, will take out two to three boxes of items,” he said to the press gathered outside Najib’s residence.
“It’s a big house so they had to search each room. That’s why it took so long.”
“There are no arrests now and no indication that there will be an arrest” Najib’s lawyer said according to The Star.
