A little girl called Tin Pei Ling grows up

PAP’s biggest joke in the 2011 elections has started to get serious. Tin Pei Ling, who was made fun of for her Twitter photos showing off her high-life, hit 30 in December last year and says: I have grown up and also grown a thick skin.She told MyPaper: “There was that feeling (the pressure of having to prove her worth) at first. But now that I’ve hit 30, I feel a greater sense of confidence and mission.
Now, it is not about wanting to prove myself, but about doing my best.”

The PAP’s attempt to push her youth during the election backfired because her social media photographs, including one showing off her Kate Spade bag, and a comment that her biggest  regret  was not taking her parents to Universal Studios came back to haunt her.

The whole experience was a baptism of fire, she says. “I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone. It was unpleasant and I felt a lot of pressure. My  reputation was hurt, but that is intangible. There are residents who are struggling to pay the bills. That is a real problem.”It looks like she is all set to sock it to her critics at the next election, which must be held by January 2017.

UPDATE:

Ms. Tin hopes she will be contesting in the MacPherson ward, which will be a Single Member Constituency (SMC) in the upcoming General Election.
