Betrayers will help Najib sell Malaysia to foreign powers: Mahathir

Former Prime Minister Mahathir Mohamad said the 14th General Elections will be crucial for the country as it will be the ultimate opportunity for the nation to get rid of Prime Minister Najib Razak.

However, he said there are parties that are out to betray Malaysia in the elections.

Without naming the parties, he said the opposition coalition has a big chance to defeat Najib and the Barisan Nasional in the upcoming elections, but if some parties were to play spoilers and force a three corner or four corner fight, then Najib might still win.

He called ‘these parties’ the betrayers against those who want to bring down Najib to save Malaysia from a deteriorated economy, a destroyed democracy and a deteriorated social environment.

“Some of these parties will try to put their candidates in a three corner fight, telling people they are fighting Najib but in reality they are supporting Najib,” he said in his blog post on Chedet.cc.

He warned that these political organisations have only one thing in mind: that is divide the opposition vote and confuse the voters.

“Such a move is a form of betrayal against those fighting against the damages done to the country.

“As a result, Najib will remain in power and this will bankrupt the country which will then fall into the control and power of foreign nations,” he said.

The Islamists, once a partner in the opposition coalition, has since then joined the Umno and has strategised it will contest as many seats as possible, both against the Pakatan Harapan opposition and the Barisan Nasional.
