How to attract healthy relationships

Everyone has different wants and needs when it comes to cultivating relationships, but for those looking for long-term relationships and wanting to know how to attract someone and keep them in your life, here are some helpful tips:

Take time to heal from old relationships and decide what you want

Think about what you liked and didn’t like and what you would never do again. Do a practice where you let go of the old and prepare to bring in the new.

Know what you want from your new partner

Figure out what you want. Write about the kind of relationship you want when you are together. Be clear about the kind of person you are looking for.

Love yourself

Another way to attract healthy relationships is to work on self-care, eat well, rest, drink plenty of water and get enough sleep. Nurture your spirit by reading, learning to be more creative and resting. When you love yourself, you can bounce back from any kind of disappointment.

Understand who you are

It takes one to know one. Be the kind of person you are looking for. If you want someone kind, considerate and loving, be the same.

Engage in meaningful activities.

Pamper yourself. Live the life you want to enjoy for yourself. Think about what you would like to do and work towards that. Don’t just do nothing until you find your dream person. Live your life as if you already have what you want. Join an organisation you like, get busy, join a club and get involved in activities that you’re passionate about.

Communicate effectively

Express yourself well and, at the same time, practice active listening and listening with empathy. Be genuine and allow potential partners to see the real you. Effective communication makes for better trust and a deeper connection.
