In the latest of similar incidents, slab falls from height at flat in Ang Mo Kio GRC

STOMP reported that a slab of concrete fell from the high floors of Block 449 Hougang Ave 10 hitting several vehicles parked in the carpark below. No one was reported injured in the incident. The block is in Ang Mo Kio GRC where Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong is the anchor Minister.

This is the latest in such events happening in the past months. According to Shin Min Daily News, “a slab of the roof-wall” fell from Block 51 in MacPherson Road in October 2016. The report said that a calcium silicate board which measured about “4 metres by 2 metres” dislodged and fell from the building.

Then in September, a concrete sunbreaker was dislodged from another HDB block in Tampines.

In December 2015, two women escaped being injured when a slab of concrete fell from a pedestrian bridge outside Orchard Plaza.

And in July 2015, a slab of concrete fell from a block in Whampoa.
