Indonesian e-commerce site Bukalapak launches e-wallet feature BukaDana

For Bukalapak, the launch of BukaDana is the latest move in its expansion to the fintech sector

Indonesian e-commerce site Bukalapak today announced the launch of BukaDana, its e-wallet feature, the result of its partnership with digital wallet service provider DANA.

The feature will enable users of Bukalapak online marketplace to pay for purchases using a “fast and secure” method; it will also serve as an account to accept refund.

It is already available for Bukalapak app users on Android and iOS devices since August 10.

“… We believe that BukaDana has the ability to strengthen the public’s trust in us as an online shopping platform. We will keep on innovating with the hope to support small- and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and provide a solution for Bukalapak users in Indonesia,” Bukalapak Co-Founder and President Fajrin Rasyid said in a press statement.

The launch of BukaDana is the latest move the company has made in its expansion to the fintech sector. It has previously launched gold trading service BukaEmas and mutual funds service Buka Reksa.

Its competitor Tokopedia also operates its own e-wallet feature TokoCash.
