Local indie filmmakers Johnny Loh and Lynzabel Lee are trying their hand at becoming the 26th Director of the sequel ‘more ABCs of death.’
The ABCs of Death is a 2012 American anthology horror comedy film produced by Ant Timpson and Tim League. It contains 26 different shorts, each by different directors spanning fifteen countries. It premiered at the 2012 Toronto International Film Festival. In 2013, it was released on VOD January 31 and in theaters March 8.
The film is divided into 26 individual chapters, each helmed by a different director assigned a letter of the alphabet. The directors were then given free rein in choosing a word to create a story involving death. The varieties of death range from accidents to murders.
In an interview this morning, Johnny Loh the director of M for Mask Off, said that he wants to inspire more indie artistes in Singapore to participate and showcase their talents through such competitions. The short film features local talents Lynzable Lee and Gim Goh.
Ms Lee told The Independent Singapore that there is lack of support and outlets for local talent and aspiring artists in Singapore. She is confident of more talent coming forward in years ahead.
