SINGAPORE: In an Instagram post, The Celebrity Agency shared that the first five episodes of Mediacorp’s newest drama, Last Madame: Sisters of the Night, are now available to watch on meWATCH. The agency expressed what the drama is all about in the post caption.
The drama revolves around the life of a young Japanese girl who becomes the top ‘karayuki-san’ in Malaya and is also working as a secret spy for Japan. It is set in the 1920s.
Forced into prostitution, Nozomi, a young Japanese girl, rises to become the top karayuki-san in Malaya while secretly working as a spy for Japan. She befriends Qing Ling, a young Chinese girl trying to escape from her life of oppressive luxury.
Set in the 1920s, in a patriarchal British colony, Nozomi is caught in the crosshairs as British and Japanese intelligence lock horns while Qing Ling is betrayed by her lover and thrown into prostitution. How will the two girls support each other and make it out alive?
This drama series stars in-demand actors and actresses, namely Gini Chang, Fang Rong, Yusuke Fukuchi, Min Ji-oh, Zhang Ze Tong, Jo Tan, and many more.
