Najib's son forced Zouk DJ out angering club patrons

Malaysian Prime Minister Najib Razak’s son, Norashman Najib, caused a kerfuffle at Zouk Singapore last Saturday when his impromptu request to play a set resulted in the organisers cutting guest DJ Fadi’s set short to accede to Junior Najib.

The move to prematurely end Fadi’s performance was received poorly by angered Zouk patrons. Fadi (of Egyptian trance music duo, Aly & Fila) himself said that he felt insulted and vowed not to play at Zouk anymore. Pointing out Zouk’s obvious pandering, Fadi said “It seems that Zouk here wants someone else to play. Not only because of that, but because he’s the son of a prime minister.”
Zouk Singapore posted a clarification of the incident in their Facebook page, but it did not assuage many patrons of the club. They slammed the popular club venue for its decision, saying that Zouk had disrespected a well-known DJ and that the incident reflected poorly on the Zouk brand name.
