Punggol West MP slams lift technician for being missing for 3.5 hours while on duty

Member of Parliament in charge of Punggol West, Sun Xueling took a lift technician to task yesterday, slamming him for shoddy servicing work and for being nowhere to be found for three and a half hours while he was supposed to be on duty.

Sharing that she is keenly aware of lift issues plaguing her ward, the MP assured her residents that she is working with Town Council and Housing Development Board personally to resolve defective lifts that inconvenience residents.

“Dear Residents, I am crucially aware of the lift issues plaguing Arcadia, Residences and Regalia. For a while there was an improvement in the workings of the lifts generally across Punggol West but lately, lift issues have crept up again with increasing momentum.

“It is unacceptable that a lift technician is nowhere to be found for 3.5 hours. It is also unacceptable that right after servicing, the same lift breaks down again the next day. I sat down with Town council yesterday to go through the lift issues and sent our data findings to HDB today. I have also asked for a meeting with the HDB and have put forth my recommendations.

“I will keep you posted. Thank you.”

Punggol West residents responding to their parliamentarian’s Facebook post were grateful and highlighted specific areas that need attention as she prepares to meet with HDB soon.
