Step down, step down Najib: Youth demo in KL

Hundreds of protesters took to the streets on New Year’s Eve in the “Turun Minyak Turun Najib” rally on Dec 31.

Gathering at the Sogo Shopping Complex in Kuala Lumpur as early as 9pm, the crowd began to march towards Dataran Merdeka two hours later.

They shouted Turun Turun Najib – step down, step down Najib while regrouping near the Dataran Merdeka.

A rare moment where the police did not use their batons and tear gas, perhaps in the spirit of the new year?

Waving the flat ‘Otai Reformis’ the group of youth danced and beat the drums shouting ‘long live the people’.

“The people are suffering, step down Najib, step down.” they chanted.
